Skate4Hope & Longboarding in The News
Firstly, congratulations to JonJon and the Skate4Hope crew for completing their 120km longboarding adventure around Singapore over the weekend in support of the animal loving charity ACRES! That must’ve been pretty crazy since it rained like animals!
Anyway, LSP digs longboarding and animals too so we support Skate4Hope by supplying helmets, pocari sweat and special discounts for equipment, and apparently Skate4Hope bigged us up to some media people so we got featured on prime time TV news.
Heres a link to the online piece where they quoted me saying “Not everyone wants to do tricks and jump down stairs and kill themselves. So for longboards, a lot of guys started to get into that, especially older guys, who did not want to deal with the impact.”
Well, that kinda came out wrong, I did not mean to say that skateboarding was more dangerous. For what its worth, I also said you could kill yourself longboarding but they did not put that quote in so yea don’t worry, longboarding is cool too because its dangerous!
I also wanted to say, “Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids!” but the perplexed look on the reporter’s face hinted to me that i had already made a big enough fool of myself so i shut up and punched the camera in the lens cos it was in my face.
Anyway…It looks as if longboarding is really taking off here and we’ve been hard at work getting good stuff in, most recently stuff that is cheap and good, so if you’re interested in getting a longboard, please come see us and help us pay the rent!
I guess this should mean more business for you Gary.
