Gary dyes his shoes
Being the true ninja that I am, I wasn’t too happy when my new shoes were not available in the color I wanted: BLACK.
No worries tho, cos I used to customise my shoes all the time 10 years ago. And by customise I dont mean crap jobs like Barry’s where he just paints his shoes white and thinks hes Vanilla Ice.
Barry thinks painted shoes look good but actually the white paint rubs off easily so it just looks like hes wearing dalmation puppies after 5 mins of skating.
So today I decided to try some proper suede dye to color my new shoes black as night so I can do all my cool ninja things that ninjas like me do without getting spotted.
It may not be evident from the crappy picture above but it was a disaster. Basically my shoe is now dark brown, not black. Oh well, thats how dyes work, the original colour affects the outcome. Theres lots of parts not made of suede that don’t take on the dye too well, I’ll try to touch those up with black fabric paint when the dye dries tomorrow.
If you are interested, I bought my shoe at the skate shoe shop at Far East Plaza, the one Ali the skater works at. And I bought the dye and paints from Spotlight at Plaza Singapura, which you might want to check out for the cute girls buying art supplies. And I got my ninja swords and shurikens from –HAH! did u really think i would reveal my awesome ninja secrets? <At this point Gary throws a smoke bomb and disappears in its shroud. gosh lol. The dye($8), paint($5), and paint pen($5) are from Spotlight at Plaza Singapura. They sell lots of cool art things like… cool paint brushes.
yo barry since we are writing all these random posts about painting, why dont you do one about painting your face? cos like youre from scotland and thats all you guys do over there right, you know wear skirts and paint your faces? yea, I saw it in Braveheart.
