yea remember how you stole my phone and took some pics with it many months ago? well anyway the old miniLSP is gone for good now. i took the banner down with my bare hands the other day and embraced josh kalis’s epic tre flip with tears streaming down my cheeks.
kidding, i have no time for emotions. well, unless i see a cat.
speaking of cats, i was taking a pic of this hat at the new store the other day and some random cat makes it into the frame on the top right. aww.

i wanted to know if habitat decks are good and long lasting?
all decks branded by major brands are “good” and will last the same. the only difference would be graphics and ‘brand’ and maybe shape, but shapes only matter if you are picky otherwise you can get used to any shape and skate just as well.
for proof, all major brands have top pros skating for them using their boards and they can all skate awesome.
keep in mind that decks are made from wood, which is an inconsistent organic material so sometimes you will run into decks that you may feel are “bad” and some which you feel are “good”. this has nothing to do with the brand, its just the natural variation of wood as a material.
my advice would be to not worry about the different brands so much. all decks will break if you land on it wrong, all decks will chip if it hits something wrong, and all tails will wear out if you scrape it on rough ground.
to get your boards to last longer, make a conscious effort to land your tricks on the bolts, and dont let your board run into hard sharp objects that will chip it, and finally don’t scrape the tail more than you need to i.e. dont use the tail to brake, it should only be scraping the ground when you pop tricks.
i know from personal experience that decks will chip instantly if they land upside down and slide down the ramps / quarter pipes / banks at sommerset. this is because they get cut by the metal threshold that protrudes from the surface of the ramps in some places, so keep an eye out for stuff like that.
At LSP we make the effort to minimize places where you could possibly chip your deck, for example the vert wall is designed with a seamless transition to the floor. Also, if you skate at LSP your tail wont wear out cos the floor is smooth and hard, it will wear out quite a bit if you skate rough concrete regularly.
With all that said and done, you should know that all parts of a skateboard will eventually wear out from use and all you can do is try your best to take care of it. Probably the most important thing aside from what i mentioned above is to keep it dry, especially during this rainy season.

daniel: Yes the new place is ready. For now, we open 2pm to 9pm from Monday to Thursday and 2pm to 10pm Fridays, 11am to 10pm on Saturdays and 11am to 9pm on Sundays.

last time i skated in the rain my swiss bones got rusted on my trucks and had to get it down to lsp for 20 mins of lovely hammering before it came out half dead:(
