Ok guys, we are going to be doing a very exclusive preview of the new skatepark this Sunday 1 November 2009 - in 2 days basically!
This is the special event that i have been dropping hints about. It is a way to thank all the people who have been supporting LSP by buying decks from us even though the skatepark closed down, and the way it will work is this:
If you are skating with an Alien Workshop OR Habitat brand deck, come down to the new place on Sunday and skate the entire day for FREE.
We will post more details on the event such as the exact location and opening time tomorrow Saturday 6pm so be sure to check the site.
Notes:
1. We have only announced this now because I was unsure if the place would even be skate-able on Sunday. Even now, I am not sure if everything will be finished but there should be plenty to skate.
2. The new place will not open the next day i.e. Monday because there will still be a lot of work left to be done so it will close again for renovations for a few more days before the official opening.
3. This is strictly an exclusive preview, there will be no exceptions and if you are not skating with one of our decks you will definitely not be allowed in.

if my brother has an alient skateboard and i bring it along, can i skate?

What if you want to bring your friend and they don’t have a deck from you guys? Will they be allowed in?

is the store at the new location opened yet? i will be going to lsp store someday in that week.
where is the new place?

can the skaters with none of those brand decks come and check out the place?
how about those who are using BAMBOO decks they bought from lsp? can they get in?
You have to be skating inside with one of our decks, no sharing decks (for example 2 people inside with one deck), no exceptions sorry.
You will not be allowed inside without one of our decks and if you just want to check out the place you can do so by looking through the windows from the outside.
The place is 5 minutes walk away from the present location. We will update the site on Saturday evening with more details, including a video of how to get there so check the site then.
The new place is still being renovated now, and on Sunday the contractors are not working so it will be skate-able, after that it will still be a few more days of renovations during the week before it is 100% ready to open officially.
If you are using BambooSK8 decks bought from us, yes you are invited :)

The shop is not ready there yet it will still be at the usual place and we will open our usual hours on Sunday for the shop.
When is the real opening for every one 2 skate in it?
We do not know when everything will be ready for the official opening so you will have to check the site we will announce it as soon as we know. It should not be later than next weekend.

Fred: we have not decided yet but email us and we will get back to you about the arrangements. previously it was $10 per person per hour, minimum $50 per hour, and only available outside of our normal operation hours.

haha john are you guys all gonna be about for christmas? I’ll definitely need the 3 powers of Stef and the Maasive brothers combined for an epic christmas party at LSP oh damnn!!!
Today was crazy, luckily we cleaned the place the night before from 8pm to 11pm. I’d like to thank Arthur, Seb, Dan, Mikey and Adam for helping. it was seriously a warzone we hauled out a ton of construction debris and wiped everything down in super dusty air… like we couldnt see past 5 feet in front of us. Anyway we cleaned again from 8am and just made it to open in time, luckily the dust had settled overnight and we could breath.
I did film some stuff and ill try to put up a video asap if i find the time.
Off the top of my head, some notable things that happened:
- First guy to show up was Dan Milstein
- Frisco showing up real early too to shred it, is he even from san francisco?
- The Exceptional Dan Golds quiting Redbull in exchange for skating with my board, but only made it past 2 camel humps the entire day. i trust you will think about the stuff we spoke about and find your way in life to come back a changed man for christmas.
- 2-3 kids somehow got in without having LSP decks, you guys are extremely lucky that i was distracted / was too timid to kick you guys out cause i left my gun at home.
- Feroze & Farris showed up but i had to say NO to Firdaus which led him to buy a deck to get in. ka-chiing!
- Feroze’s epic faceplant. ka-booomm!
- some guy’s axle punched a small hole in one of the floor tiles, anyone care to own up? that must have been a massive primo! Or it might have been Feroze’s face… no wait that one left a big crater.
- I did a mactwist in front of Farris and he promptly skated away in shame. I proceeded to chase him at full speed down the camel humps but just as i was about to tag him, he rocked-to-fakie at the end and we collided in a fashion that could only be described as Epic. It was like Stef and Seb’s Piggyback only 3x worse. I knocked all his teeth out and my eyeball popped out and when we stood up we realised our bodies had fused together like siamese twins. ok i took it a bit too far but you get my point.
- the awesome flooring that i thought was awesome was not awesome after all and people were slipping everywhere and it was still dusty as hell.
- Taufik showed up and went insane on the vert wall. Everyone was picking their jaws off the floor.
- totally dissapointed that farris did not do a 900 mactwist on the vert wall.
- seb scolding me for not filming his kickflip front board… dude if u dont land it in 20 tries it aint my fault that i get bored and start filming something more interesting like ants crawling around on the floor. In this case there were no ants around so i just filmed the bare floor. i think it was spoke to me, it said, “oh my gawwwdd…..”
- I was at the old store and Dan called to ask if i had any splints in stock cos he broke his wrist for the 100th time. no dan, this is skateboarding not the hospital. i dont have an xray machine or keep splints around but sure i’ll run over now with Stef’s icy spray and some ice packs. a ‘thank you’ would be nice.
- last guy to leave was calum of course. he does not stop skateboarding. Calum IS Skateboarding.
- He also does not stop talking haha.
- The miniramp’s coping sticks out too much right now and will be fixed.
- today was fun, thanks for coming to test the place out guys. with your input we should be able to officially open this weekend with some corrections to the obstacles and the rest of the renovations being completed.
