miniLSP updates

Published by Gary at 8:31 pm under News

This week we will try to do something about the noise complaints, and maybe resurface the ground floor, which means more unforseen costs :(

Work should start this Thursday so we will close the skate area on the ground floor during that time. If it is too hectic we might have to close the entire store.

About the admission fees, it used to be $10 for the whole day but we might start doing sessions because we just don’t have enough space to accomodate many skaters at a time.

Last Friday and Saturday we were doing $10 for 3 hours as a test. We will try to work something out in the future that would be best for everyone, we don’t want to make it too expensive but at the same time we don’t want you to pay to get in but end up not being able to skate because its too crowded.

So anyway, for this week especially, If you are coming down to skate, check the website first or call us at 64686055 just in case we are closed.

For those who haven’t been down, heres our location, and what the store front looks like.storemap.jpg

The address is 783 Bukit Timah Road, Singapore 269760. We open from 1pm to 8pm Tuesdays to Sundays, and we are closed on Mondays.

Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee that you will be able to skate (due to renovations or noise complaints), but you can still check out the shop area, we’ve got a ton of stuff, our main brands are DC, Alien Workshop and Habitat.

P.S. to the guy posting comments impersonating PJ Ladd and Calum, pls stop doing that.

    Dear Gary/barry
Hi 2weeks ago on a sunday i brought my kids down to skate at your park. You really have a very nice cooling park with lots of polite peoples around.as my kids are beginner i seriously dunno whereabout to start. I think to improve the incomes for your skate park you should commence a lesson for the kids. Shortly on that day my kids asked a local guys in his mid 30’s fair skin complexion on how to drop in he thought my kids in ten min he able to drop in. I am so impress his experience shared to my boys. Such lesson should be provide at your park.unfortunately the other time i came over he was’nt around. Anyway i guess you should engage someone like the about mention guys to conduct a lesson for the safety and knowledge for our kids there . Thank you. MRS JIM

Hey are you guys open wednesday and thursday?
And another idea to consider is making memberships because i live 5 mins or somethin down the road and would come every day if i had one.
Even just monthly memberships would be nice
Oh and when will the BIGLsp be announced for opening?

I agree with Bills parents. My mom said if you guys give out lessons, she would want me to go there cuz she thinks I suck and she likes it there better then Go Sports.

Zack: We have been trying to make a big skatepark for over a year now, miniLSP is a temporary location while we continue to look for a larger place. As far as small spaces are concerned this was the best place we could find, the noise we make is actually within regulations and we are just doing more sound treatment as a gesture of goodwill to our neighbors.

Terry: The noise is transmitted through the structure from every impact on the ground. The vibrations travel easily across the block, the problem is not music or voices, and no so much skateboards hitting the walls, it is just the vibrations from rolling and impact on the ramps and concrete floor.

Thomas: We did not film much(if at all) for GSD, some people did take lotsa pics tho, we’ll post them up when we get them.

The bus numbers are on the location map, we open from 1pm to 8pm, the current rates as of 26 Jun 2009 are $5 for first hour, and $3 per hour after that.
