Hiromi’s Trip to Christchurch, New Zealand

Published by Hiromi at 4:58 pm under News

Hiromi visited New Zealand recently and was nice enough to make a post - Barry

Here are some pictures of my trip to Christchurch, New Zealand.

10 hour flight to Christchurch, watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua because I was bored and 10 hours is dammmm long!

Washington Way Skatepark

Skating an all cement park was a nice change to the plastic and metal ramps that make up Somerset park. Skating in cold weather is refreshing. My board seemed to have more POP and better control

minimini Ramp

This is perfect for beginners and small kids. The coping is easy to lock onto and smooth. The transition is very mellow making it impossible to fall down or hurt yourself.

Manual pad + Curb

This is also really good for both beginners and advanced skaters. The manual pad is long and there are no severe cracks or damage to the floor that put you off.

Sheeps are cute!!

    how was e weather??
    e park looks pretty empty?

Hi propnex! The temp during the day was around 18 oC but it fell to around 10 oC at night.
I took the pics in the morning when the park wasn’t crowded. But it got busy in the afternoon. It looks like there are more skaters in Christchuch than Singapore.
But there are also a lot of public skateparks. Unfortunately I only had time to visit Washington Way Skatepark :(

  9. Hiromion 09 Mar 2009 at 11:18 pm

Hi Roy! The decks over there are slightly more expensive. Branded decks are around NZD160 (SGD120).
