Firdaus, Feroze & Farris at the Kia X-Games Asia - Shanghai 2012
Videos and more updates can be found at FEROZE’s SOTONG SKATEBOARDS http://skatesotong.blogspot.com/
The guys just got back from Shanghai! If I understand correctly, the results are:
Street Prelims:
Firdaus 3rd
Feroze 7th
Farris 9th
This is in a field of international riders so since its an X-Games “ASIA”, they use the prelim results as a separate competition to judge the best asians, and so Firdaus got a 1st place and Feroze got 3rd in that!

The top 6 guys from the prelims then qualify for the finals which I think includes already seeded guys from other X-Games or something. In the finals, Firdaus said he messed up his tricks and I think it was wet or something and they decided to split the prize money equally among the top 10 which are:
Street Finals
1. Milton Martinez
2. Greg Lutzka
3. Ryo Sejiri
4. Braulio Sagas
5. Kelvin Hoefler
6. Tomas Vintr
7. Tulio Oliviera
8. Tyler Hendley
9. Tetsuharu Sai
10. Firdaus Rahman
Vert Finals: Farris placed 16th
Also, this is the first X-Games that Farris was allowed to take part in the Mega Ramp event which is nuts and basically Farris’ dream come true hahaha! check the sotong site for more updates!

Platform magazine’s Austyn Gillette best line video competition.

Platform magazine is doing a video contest with an Austyn Gillette theme, and we will be supplying the prizes, we are going to give away an Austyn P2 deck and habitat shoe each to the top 3 entries.
- Austyn is known for his 180 grinds so the unique rule in this challenge is that at least one of the tricks in your line has to be a 180 grind.
- Your line has to be a minimum of 3 tricks, think of the “Firing Line” video series on Thrasher.
- Your line will not just be judged on the technical difficulty of the tricks, equally or more importantly would be your creativity, flow, and SPEED.
- It should be filmed decently, there doesn’t need to be any editing (slowmo etc) or music, we just want to be able to see the line clearly.
- Upload your entries to a tube site and email us the link by 31st May 2012. Alternatively, if you can compress it under 20mb, you can email the whole video to us. Our email is loveskatepark at gmail.com
